🇵🇹 Between the Waves and the Greens (Life Update)

A few months ago, my partner and I, finally pulled to the trigger and decided to move to Portugal semi-permanently. We've been wanting to move here for several years already, but it never really worked out due to work or travel plans.

But here we are now, with an ocean view from our living room, in between the waves and the greens.

Yes, one of the main reasons I wanted to move to Portugal was actually for surfing, there's always a wave to be had and surfing has long been my number one passion. And it is absolutely great to have several good breaks in front of the door. Not only that, but this part of the coast here in Portugal is also just a lot more interesting to me, large white sand beaches nestled in between high cliffs. I truly love the wild side of the Atlantic Ocean over the mild Mediterranean Sea we were used to in Spain.

Luckily, I still find myself within short (30 minutes or so) driving distance of a handful of golf clubs. When it comes to those, I must say that the Algarve does not disappoint. For the first in a long time, I have become a member of a local club, however, I do also intend to play pretty much every other course in the area and in Portugal in general, turning them into vlogs as I go along.

The Algarve is a revered golfing destination, though I must say, green fee prices are a bit out of proportion for the country and the local purchasing power. I was often able to find better rates in Spain, but then again, there were a lot more golf courses, and therefore the rates were a bit more competitive I guess.
