Having picked up the game of golf at around the age of twelve, and having played on and off over the years I possibly didn't imagine myself getting back into it as much as I am lately. For the past few years, my interests have been more in surfing 🏄‍♂️ and photography 📸.

But then, after traveling the world, I got back to Europe and settled in the South of Spain for a little while. In a region known as the Costa del Sol, which is often also called the "Costa del Golf". Both turn out to be suitable names, as there are 300+ days of sunshine year-round, and a total of 70 golf courses on this little piece of coast. The region ranks as a top golf destination worldwide, drawing many people in to visit and play some of the fantastic courses.

Well, all of a sudden I found myself living smack in the middle of it, and with the ocean being mostly calm (no waves 🌊), how could I not take up golf again? Surfing and golf are more similar than many like to believe. I mean, they both take place in nature, require battling the elements, and they are equally a huge waste of time 🤭, but hey, that's what keeps us sane.

The endless pursuit of that perfect score

That's where we're at now. I used to play off a handicap 10 when I was playing more regularly for a few years in my early twenties. But then I moved abroad for studies, and later for work. I didn't touch a golf club for about ten years until recently (September 2021).

Now that I have been playing more regularly again, I'm able to play around a handicap 10 again. Some days I may shoot a round in the high 70s, whereas on other days I'll come home with a near 90 on the scorecard. But that's golf.

My main goal now is to get closer and closer to scratch. But first, I just want to play one round even par, or below. Even though it may be unrealistic, that is pretty much my goal each and every time I go out and play. I've been close on a few occasions, so I know it's up for grabs 🤙.

Apart from trying to play and document as many different rounds on courses in my area, and around the world, I do also want to focus on getting better at golf, what exactly I'm doing, and what has helped me the most. All of this will be documented and shared both on my YouTube channel as well as on this blog. I can also be found on Instagram and Twitter, feel free to reach out to me there.

I hope you'll find it interesting and choose to stick around 🙏.
